(Knoxville, TN): In 2021, Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) again gave back to the military community with another donation to the Pararescue Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to preserve and support the Pararescue community.
The United States Air Force Pararescuemen, also known as “PJs,” and their Combat Rescue Officer leaders are the only US force specifically trained and equipped to execute the most dangerous and technical rescue operations worldwide. Regardless of enemy threat or environmental conditions, these elite warriors stand ready to find isolated and injured people, render expert medical care, and return them safely. Such selfless service takes a toll on military families. These warriors operate at a convergence of roles known to be high-risk for Post-Traumatic Stress: ground combat, trauma medicine, and the recovery of human remains. Also, the physical burden of carrying patients, rescue equipment, and combat loads through parachute insertions, armed conflict, open ocean swims, glacier travel and mountainous terrain routinely results in chronic physical and neurological damage.
The Pararescue Foundation (www.pararescuefoundation.org) is the only entity dedicated to exclusively support US Air Force Pararescue and Combat Rescue Officer service members, veterans and their families.
PSI President and CEO Sean Williams, a former USAF Pararesueman (PJ), commented, “The Pararescue Foundation’s sole mission is to support our PJ brothers and their families through resiliency, transition, and legacy preservation services. We are proud to support the great work they are doing for our PJ community. I am personally grateful for the opportunity to give back to a brotherhood that has defined the trajectory of my life and my success in the most profound ways. These things we do…”
Ron Lennis, Pararescue Foundation Executive Director added “The Pararescue Foundation is thrilled to announce it has received a philanthropic donation from PSI again in 2021. There’s a lot of synergy between the elite veterans PJF supports and the highly recognized security services PSI delivers to its customers. We’re humble, honored and cannot thank PSI enough for their generosity. These funds will be used to support our programs, retreat services and general operations of the Foundation.”
