Department of Energy (DOE) Selects Mission Support Alliance, LLC for Mission Support Contract at its Hanford Site
Washington, DC – The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the Mission Support Alliance, LLC has been selected as the mission support contractor for DOE’s Hanford Site in southeastern Washington State. The contract is a cost-plus award-fee contract valued at approximately $3.0 billion over ten years (a five-year base period with options to extend it for up to another five years).
The Mission Support Alliance, LLC is a limited liability company formed by Lockheed Martin Integrated Technology, LLC; Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.; and Wackenhut Services, Inc. Pre-selected subcontractors include Abadan, Akima Facilities Management, Dade Moeller & Associates, HPM, Longenecker and Associates, Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI), R. J. Lee Group, Vivid Learning Systems, Westech International, TestAmerica, and Lampson International.
The Mission Support Contract (MSC) for Hanford will provide cost-effective infrastructure and site services integral and necessary to accomplish the Hanford Site’s environmental cleanup mission. The scope of the MSC contract includes five primary functions: Safety, Security and Environment; Site Infrastructure and Utilities; Site Business Management; Information Resources/Content Management; and Portfolio Management.

Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was presented with the Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year award from the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Y-12 National Security Complex. This award was in recognition of our outstanding performance in support of NNSA's Y-12 National Security programs for the fiscal year 2007.
Protection Strategies Incorporated awarded contract extension to conduct safety, security, and suitability standards support services at U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a contract extension in April 2008 to conduct technical and administrative safety, security, and suitability standards support services at the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) National Maritime Center. PSI evaluates Merchant Mariner credential applications for suitability, accuracy and authenticity by conducting detailed research and investigation, and completing technically complex reviews of records. Specifically, PSI tasks include: managing records and files; querying public and law enforcement database resources; reviewing legal documentation; contacting law enforcement agencies and personnel; and preparing correspondence and reports detailing final safety/security and suitability determinations on credential applications. PSI was selected for the re-award of this contract due to our proven past performance and accolades received from the customer.
Protection Strategies Incorporated Re-Awarded Contract with the U.S. Department of State to Provide Emergency Management Support Services
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was re-awarded a contract on 1/18/08 with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, to evaluate and implement emergency management policies. Tasks include monitoring the Bureau’s overall emergency readiness, developing evacuation plans for passport centers, providing training to emergency management personnel, revising and updating the Bureau Emergency Action Plan, and serving as the emergency website content manager. PSI was selected based on its outstanding work currently being performed at the Department of State in this area, as well as superior past performance at other Federal government agencies.
Protection Strategies Incorporated continues providing support to the Department of Homeland Security Emergency Call Center
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was recently awarded a subcontract with Lockheed Martin to continue providing Switchboard Operators at the Department of Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness and Response Center located in Washington, DC. Through prime and subcontract vehicles, PSI has been supporting this critical national security program since late 2003.
Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded A $205 Million Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) As A Member of the Systematic Management Services (SMS) Team
The SMS Team was awarded a GSA Schedule Blanket Purchase Agreement in November 2007 to provide multidisciplinary security, administrative and translation services to the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) customers. The contract ceiling value is 205 million dollars. The SMS Team consists of 7 companies, all selected because of their best-in-class credentials for providing services to the Federal government. Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was selected as a member of the SMS Team based upon its outstanding work as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned security services provider to the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The BPA is available to all DOE/NNSA agencies to order security, administrative support and translation services.
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) is Commemorated for Work Well Done on United States Coast Guard Contract
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) received accolades for work well done on its contract with the USCG. PSI performs adjudication services for the Coast Guard’s Security Center. These services expedite the security clearance process for all military and civilian personnel attached to the Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Wins Contract with Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. to Provide Security Program Assessment Services
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a contract on October 24, 2007 with Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. to provide an independent assessment of their security program. Tasks include evaluation, testing, and maintenance of the physical protection system; training of security personnel; and development of security procedures and practices, including the Physical Protection Plan and the Security Contingency Response Plan.
Protection Strategies Incorporated Wins Contract with the Department of Defense to Provide Security Assessment Services
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a contract on September 28, 2007, with the Department of Defense to conduct a security assessment of 15 Defense National Stockpile Center (DNSC) storage facilities. Tasks include conducting vulnerability assessments to protect staff from incidents of incursion and terrorism, to safeguard agency assets from incidents of criminal activity, and to limit liability associated with incidents of personal injury resulting from authorized and unauthorized entry onto the property. PSI was selected based on our excellent past performance providing vulnerability assessment services at the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency, and at various other Federal government agencies.
Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract with the U.S. Census Bureau to Provide Adjudication Services
Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a contract with the U.S. Census Bureau on September 21, 2007, to provide adjudication services in support of the Administration Management Systems Division (AMSD), Census Hiring and Employment Check (CHEC) Branch. Tasks include interviewing applicants, conducting background checks, and preparing National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) packages in support of the investigation of an applicant’s suitability for employment with the Census Bureau. PSI was selected based on our prior experience providing adjudication support services at various other Federal government agencies.
