PSI Makes Charitable Donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

Protection Strategies Incorporated is proud to announce that on February 25, 2011 PSI donated a handicap accessible van and check in the amount of $2000 to the Disabled Veteran Americans (DAV).

"Washington DC Veteran Affairs Medical Center (DCVAMC) unveiled its newly donated van February 25. The 2003 six-passenger van was donated by Protection Strategies Incorporated, a company owned and operated by disabled Veterans. The van will be added to a fleet of donated vehicles in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV)/Volunteer Transportation Network that transports more than 500 Veterans in the DC area to the Medical Center. This all-volunteer program assures Veterans with no means of transportation can get to and from their medical appointments."...published by DAV 

PSI's contribution will help the volunteer program to continue providing services, which improve the quality of life of those who have served our country.

PSI Announces Jason Morrow’s Promotion to Project Manager of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Contract

PSI would like to congratulate Jason Morrow on his new position as Project Manager of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) contract in Knoxville, Tennessee. Mr. Morrow comes highly qualified from a contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) where he provided executive level support through identification, acquisition, and implementation of security technologies in support of critical DOE assets. As PM of the TVA contract, Mr. Morrow will be responsible for overseeing physical security assessments for various TVA facilities.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract by the Tennessee Valley Authority to Provide Security Specialists

PSI was awarded a contract by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to provide Security Specialists to conduct security assessments at various TVA facilities located in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The types of facilities to be assessed include coal-fired fossil plants, hydroelectric plants, and electrical substations. The services provided by PSI will assist TVA with the protection of this critical infrastructure.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract by the National Nuclear Security Administration to Provide Cooperative Border Security Evaluation Services



PSI was awarded a contract by the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to support the Cooperative Border Security Program. PSI will support the program by performing Area Studies and Country Evaluations and develop Country Engagement Plans for various countries to assist them in documenting the threats to and current state of effectiveness of their border security control systems.  Evaluations may reveal weaknesses and provide opportunities for improvements in equipment, personnel, training and procedures.

The services provided by PSI to the NNSA’s Cooperative Border Security Program will help to strengthen border control systems in partnering countries, thus supporting global nonproliferation, anti-terrorism and counterterrorism efforts.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract by National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) to Evaluate Current Physical Security Practices

National Credit Union Administration (NCUA)PSI was recently awarded a contract from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) to evaluate current physical security practices at their sites based on PSI’s extensive vulnerability assessment experience with DOE, DOD, and the DOJ.  PSI will assess the current NCUA security processes and will provide a written report with recommendations concerning the following areas:

  • Visitor control and processing
  • Visitor screening systems
  • Effectiveness of the access controls 
  • Staffing levels and type of security personnel (armed/unarmed)

PSI’s physical security analysis will provide NCUA management a tool to make decisions on security enhancements in a cost effective and efficient manner.

PSI is Pleased to Announce the Completion of the 28 Week FARDC Training Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa

In accordance with the approved training schedule, Week 28 (final week) of training was completed on September 15, 2010. PSI, the Department of State, and the Congolese government held a graduation ceremony on this day for all members of the battalion and Training Center who had successfully completed their training. We are proud to know that the members received training that meets the highest standards of quality.

PSI thanks everyone involved in making the FARDC training mission a success!

PERSEREC Radar Adjudication Evaluation Project

Protection Strategies Incorporated is pleased to announce our support of The Defense Personnel Security Research Center (PERSEREC) in quality review of adjudication decisions made by the Department of Defense. PSI is tasked with evaluating a number of recent clearance cases, performing quality control, as well as reviewing cases for errors.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract by Sandia National Laboratories to Provide Safeguards and Security Assessment & Vulnerability Analysis Support

On March 8, 2010, under a Contract Purchase Agreement, Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a five year contract to provide assessment/audit services within the Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) Safeguards and Security (S&S) Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Under this contract, PSI will provide subject matter expertise on an as needed basis to assess S&S topical and sub-topical areas to identify potential issues of non-compliance. Additionally, PSI will provide subject matter experts to evaluate vulnerabilities or problems that place national security interests at risk using proven Department of Energy analyses methodologies.

PSI will initiate this support contract by conducting a self assessment of the Resolution of Findings and Self-Assessment programs in mid April 2010 and a self assessment of the SNL Incidents of Security Concern (IOSC) program in late April 2010.

PSI is very excited about this contract and look forward to working with the professionals within the Sandia National Laboratories.

Protection Strategies Incorporated Awarded Contract by U. S. Department of Energy, Office of Secure Transportation, to Provide Senior Consulting, Program Integration and Project Management Services

In February 2010, under a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a five year contract to provide senior, qualified, subject matter experts with professional and technical experience in areas of safeguards and security, emergency management, safety, quality assurance, cyber security, transportation, records management, root cause analyses, program management, inventory control, national security law, labor law, financial support, organizational management, risk management, configuration control, facilities oversight, inquiries, human resources, manufacturing, training, inquiries, and facilities oversight. The subject matter experts PSI will engage in this project have provided extensive oversight to the Office of Secure Transportation (OST), and former OST personnel with experience in OST operations and support programs management as mid-level to senior managers.

PSI’s capabilities to meet the challenges of this contract are second to none. PSI is eager to perform on this contract and look forward to working the highly skilled and professional OST staff.

Protection Strategies Incorporated is pleased to announce our New Program Manager for Africa Peacekeeping Operations

Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) is pleased to welcome Paul Burton as our new Program Manager for Africa Peacekeeping Operations. Paul brings a wealth of operational and management experience to the team. He retired from the Army after 30 years of service during which he worked in the Department of State for 4 years and was involved in Peacekeeping Operations both from the operational level, policy development and inter-agency coordination level. Upon retirement, he spent 4 years in the education of our young adults. Most recently, he was the Vice President for Operations in a third party logistics firm.
