Chief Financial Officer and Controller

Moved into the CFO position of the merged company following the acquisition of Development Associates by Planning and Learning Technologies. Consolidated and centralized accounting and finance departments. Managed an accounting system software conversion.

System One Amadeus, Inc., Miami, FL/Houston, TX 1989 to 1998

Manager of Corporate Accounting/Manager of Treasury Operations

A software marketing and distribution company operating in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and mid-Pacific/Micronesia markets.

Responsibilities include cash management, forecasting, maintenance of banking relationships, risk management, lease contract compliance, corporate accounting, audit coordination, financial statement consolidation and reporting for multiple subsidiaries. Consolidated multiple accounting systems and locations into one centralized automated department resulting in improved productivity and reduced staffing requirements. Created a financial reporting and cost analysis tracking system for a $120 million software development project. Other functions include accounting for bankruptcy, re-organization, out-sourcing, acquisitions and sale of business segments.

SATO Travel, Inc., Arlington, VA 1988 - 1989

Project Controller

A full service travel company with offices located from Puerto Rico to Hawaii primarily servicing the military and federal government. Annual sales in excess of $1 billion.

Responsible for the conversion of multiple out-sourced accounting operations into one central, in-house, consolidated system. Prepared the initial financial policies and internal control procedures. Documented work flows and job descriptions. Hired and trained a staff of sixty personnel to accomplish the project within the one-year deliverable.

Eastern Airlines, Inc., Miami, FL, 1967 - 1988

Held various positions within the finance and accounting departments. Most recently Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis where responsibilities included capital planning, budgeting, business case analysis, contract pricing, cost analysis, project tracking, and forecasting.
