Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) provides security/facility management services at the FDA Security Command Center at the White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland. Specific duties include:

• Receiving the Command Center’s telephone calls and walk-in inquiries, and taking appropriate actions according to established procedures.
• Continuously operating and monitoring the security systems to provide prompt and effective responses to alarms, system failures, and unusual activities in both routine and emergency situations. This includes checking the operators’ terminals, servers, computers, interfaces, switchers, sensors, and associated components throughout the FDA Nationwide Command Center.
• Maintaining the Center’s Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOP’s) and ensuring that all contract personnel adhere to the policies and procedures contained therein.
• Monitoring the perimeter and other closed circuit television cameras for suspicious persons or criminal activity, and directing police/guards/federal protective service to investigate accordingly.
• Receiving and transmitting radio and telephone messages to police/guard/FPS units in accordance with standardized procedures in both routine and emergency situations.
