Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI), through a sub-contract with Gem Technology (GEM), provided safeguards and security support services to the Department of Energy’s Rocky Flats Field Office (RFFO), Safeguards and Security Division. Protection Strategies Incorporated provided technical and security support services to the Rocky Flats Field Office in the following areas:
Provided technical support for computer security program oversight. Analyzed computer data protection plans for the protection of sensitive information (OUO, UCNI and classified). Assessed the protection in place and planned protection strategies for on-site and off-site data processing activities. Effectiveness testing of firewalls, routers and internet service providers and intranet security measures.
Operations and Communications Security (OPSEC & COMSEC) programs analysis. Validation and verification of implementation of the directives governing the protection of classified and unclassified assets from unauthorized disclosure. Analysis of the effective implementation of an acceptable counterimagery program. Verification and validation of effective program implementation.
Identification, research, and analyzing technical and administrative safeguards and security issues for policy resolution and implementation. Review and clarification of variance requests to identify potential Environmental Management impacts, and options to address them.
