United States Coast Guard (USCG)Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) re-competed for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Personnel Security and Adjudication service contract located at the Coast Guard’s Security Center located in Chesapeake, Virginia, and was the successful bidder. As a result, PSI was awarded a new five year (base and four options) BPA contract under GSA Schedule 84.

PSI continues to provide Project Management, Personnel Security Specialists, and Data Entry personnel whom posses the knowledge and experience necessary for PSI to continue supporting this critical mission which is vital to ensuring national security goals and standards are adhered to.

The United States Coast Guard Internal Security Policy division is responsible for processing suitability for employment investigations, conducting background investigations and performing periodic reinvestigation services for the United States Coast Guard in an effort to ensure suitability of its employees and members that are required to obtain government security clearances as a requirement of their positions within the United States Coast Guard and for the Federal Government.

PSI provides Project Management and Senior Personnel Security Specialists to the United States Coast Guard whom possess the ability to perform the adjudication process based on their extensive and specific experience; and exceptional knowledge of the applicable Executive Orders, Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility for Access to Classified Information, and Security Suitability Factors as outlined in the Civil Service Rules CFAR.

Performing the adjudication process for the United States Coast Guard consists of reviewing comprehensive security, counterintelligence, personnel and other administrative files; analyzing all file content to determine and assign appropriate and complete investigative coverage; ensuring the quality and coverage of the investigative process is applicable to the specific requirement; recommending additional lines of inquiry; drafting recommendations for and initiating all follow-up investigations; conducting routine subject/informant and/or confrontational interviews as required; drafting and providing detailed reports to summarize interviews and/or resolve derogatory information; preparing final documentation to grant security clearances; drafting proposals, reviewing responses provided, and preparing final letters to revoke/deny security clearances; inputting background and security clearance data into computer databases; maintaining Security Records in accordance with established DOT/USCG regulations; and performing day-to-day administrative functions related to adjudicating background investigations.
