Security Compliance Review

Department of Veteran Affairs
Mission Critical Denver Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center

Department of Veteran AffairsProtection Strategies Incorporated (PSI), under subcontract to GLHN Architects & Engineers Incorporated, has been contracted to perform the Security Reviews for the Mission Critical Denver VA Medical Center. Reviews ensure compliance with the Physical Security Design Manual for VA Facilities and provide different solutions for similar types and issues.

PSI considers Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to define specific concentric levels of protection as requested by the Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO).This approach most often mitigates the expense and need for certain active and passive barriers required under the Physical Security Design Manual. PSI reviews are required during all stages of the engineering/construction process to provide a Security compliant Medical Center. PSI also works closely with the Security Consultant to ensure CPTED principles applied meet the Physical Security Design Manual requirements, and overall compliance internal and external, is met.

PSI Subject Matter Experts (SME):

  • Attend team reviews during all phases of the contract;
  • Tour the facility site, review blueprints,
  • Collect data, and interview, supervisors, managers, and employees to gain insight into the affected operations.

As a result, PSI provides a very professional Physical Security review of the Denver VA Medical Center.
