Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI), provides training and technical assistance for law enforcement and counter narcotics programs in Latin America. The Department of State has very extensive and comprehensive ongoing training programs throughout the region designed to assist in the development and training of foreign Law Enforcement entities, to include local, state and federal police.

Working through each U.S. Embassy in Latin American countries, PSI provides training programs that include but are not limited to:

• Evidence collection and preservation
• Fingerprinting
• Polygraph operation
• Crime scene preservation
• Use of force
• Use of deadly force
• Mechanics of arrest/cuffing procedures

PSI’s professionals working on these contracts have fluency in the local language, have past law enforcement experience, and have extensive knowledge of the Host Country Laws/Code of Criminal Procedures. In all cases they are retired or current law enforcement officers; their knowledge comes therefore not just from theory, but practice in rough surroundings.
