Call Center Operators

Department of Homeland Security

Department of Homeland Security (DHS)In April 2008, Protection Strategies Incorporated (PSI) was awarded a subcontract from Lockheed Martin to continue providing Switchboard Operators at the Department of Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness and Response Center located in Washington, DC.

In September 2003, PSI began providing Call Center Operators to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to perform services on an emergency and interim basis at the DHS Emergency Preparedness and Response Center. PSI was awarded a contract with DHS on September 30, 2003, and commenced on-site performance of services October 1, 2003. Since that time PSI has supported this critical national security program through various prime and subcontract vehicles.

PSI processes all incoming communications, maintains detailed logs and responses to general public inquiries from DHS provided and approved materials and maintains a Quality Control Program to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of call routing and response. PSI Call Center Phone Operators (CCPOs) are required to possess and maintain a “Secret” Level Government Issued Security Clearance and are professional, articulate, and courteous at all times.

The creation of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the most significant transformation of the U.S. government since 1947, when Harry S. Truman merged the various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces into the Department of Defense to better coordinate the nation's defense against military threats. Employees and contractors of the new Department of Homeland Security have a vital role to play in securing our homeland. Whether they are inspecting cargo, agriculture products, or travelers; securing our waterways and airspace; responding to emergencies; assessing law enforcement information; or researching and developing the latest technology in support of the DHS mission; people are the Department's most valuable asset and constitute the frontline in the war against terrorism.
